Read XMP metadata from a file

Read a standalone XMP sidecar or embedded XMP packet. Use --paths for a readable property listing and --json when a script needs structured output.

Steps

Start with a local file containing XMP. Replace the sample paths and identifiers with your own.
Run the command below. Read the returned data before choosing a follow-up edit.
Check the result as described below before using it in another job.

jetformat xmp info photo.jpg --paths

Options for this task

Option	Meaning
`--all`	Process every XMP packet found in the media
`--debug`	Enable XMP debug logs and statistics
`--json`	Write JSON
`--orig`	Compatibility alias of `--original`
`--original`	Write raw XMP data (default when no output format is selected)
`--path`	Compatibility alias of `--paths`
`--paths`	Print XMP paths and values
`--quiet`	Validate only; do not print content
`--xmp`	Rewrite normalized XMP after parsing

Check the result

Check the returned property paths and values; absence of one packet does not establish that all other metadata has been removed.

This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.
