Choose a page and rectangle coordinates. An annotation marks a region; it does not change the underlying words or remove sensitive content.
Steps
- Start with a local PDF. Replace the sample paths and identifiers with your own.
- Run the command below. Save to a new output path so the source remains available for comparison.
- Check the result as described below before using it in another job.

Check the result
Render the annotated page and open it in the recipient’s viewer to check placement and appearance.
Notes and limits
This operation uses page-based credits. Review the billing guide before processing a large document.
The examples keep the original file. Add --force only when you intend to overwrite an existing output. Run jetformat pdf annotate --help to compare options with your installed version.
