Extract the embedded picture assets when you need originals. This does not take a screenshot of a page and does not include surrounding captions or text layout.
Steps
- Start with a local DOCX. Replace the sample paths and identifiers with your own.
- Run the command below. Save to a new output path so the source remains available for comparison.
- Check the result as described below before using it in another job.

Check the result
Open the extracted files and confirm the required pictures are present; use PDF rendering for full-page previews.
Notes and limits
This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.
The examples keep the original file. Add --force only when you intend to overwrite an existing output. Run jetformat word extract-images --help to compare options with your installed version.
