Create a structured Excel table for a data block

A rectangular data block can be easier to maintain as a workbook table. Naming that structure gives spreadsheet users a clearer way to recognize its scope.

Choose the intended range and inspect its header row. Keep unrelated notes outside the table boundary so they do not look like data records.

A focused terminal workflow

jetformat excel table finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --range A1:B2 --name Sales -o finance-updated.xlsx

The range needs a header and at least one data row. Assign a descriptive table name and choose the complete data region.

Acceptance checks

Open the saved workbook and verify the table’s boundaries and name. Creating a table does not validate the meaning or consistency of its records.

Open the output and check header names, table boundaries, and whether all intended rows are included.

Before repeating the operation

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel table --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.
