Decide what success means
Read back edited cells and recalculate before trusting dependent totals. Saving a workbook does not by itself prove that every displayed formula result is current.
Prepare and run
Distinguish literal values from formulas and quote formula arguments carefully. Keep the mapping between source fields and cell addresses under review.
These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel set --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.
jetformat excel set finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --set A1=5 --set B2=Paid --set-formula 'C1=A1*2' -o finance-updated.xlsx
Repeat --set and --set-formula to update multiple cells in one invocation. Quote formulas containing shell metacharacters, including multiplication and parentheses.
Inspect the saved result
Read each important changed cell, recalculate cached formulas when necessary, and compare totals before PDF export.
Scope and repeatability
Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.
Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.
See the excel set options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
