Restore a hidden worksheet column for review

A workbook received from another workflow may hide supporting values needed for an audit. Unhiding a known column restores its visibility without recreating the cells.

Decide what success means

Inspect the restored values and nearby formulas. Visibility does not establish freshness, and previously hidden helper values may still require recalculation or explanation.

Prepare and run

Confirm the worksheet and column letter. Ask which data was intentionally hidden before assuming its absence from the visible grid means it was deleted.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel unhide-column --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

jetformat excel unhide-column finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --column A -o visible.xlsx

Choose the column letter and worksheet name. Unhiding restores display of existing cells; it does not recreate a deleted column.

Inspect the saved result

Open the output and read representative values in the restored column.

Scope and repeatability

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the excel unhide-column options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
