Refresh workbook formulas after editing inputs

Changing an input cell can leave a workbook's saved formula results out of date. An explicit recalculation step helps prepare a workbook for subsequent reads or export.

Prepare the input

Keep the original workbook and use a new output path. Select representative formulas to check, especially formulas that depend on other sheets.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel recalc --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat excel recalc finance.xlsx -o finance-updated.xlsx

Workbooks written by libraries may lack formula caches, leaving formula cells blank during conversion. Recalculate before exporting to PDF.

Review before the next step

Compare key totals with known expected values. Formula support and complex workbook behavior should be tested with your own sample rather than assumed from a successful save.

Read key formula cells with excel get and compare important totals with known expected values; unsupported formulas need separate review.

Keep the workflow repeatable

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the excel recalc options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
