Mark a review area with a PDF circle annotation

A reviewer may need to draw attention to a region of a PDF page. A circle annotation provides a visible marker without rewriting the page's main content.

Decide what success means

Open the saved PDF in a viewer that displays annotations and inspect the circle. An annotation’s presence does not remove, redact, or validate the marked content.

Prepare and run

Choose the page and rectangle coordinates from the document’s dimensions. Start with one page so the position can be checked before repeating the pattern.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat pdf circle --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

jetformat pdf circle book.pdf --page 1 --x 72 --y 72 --width 80 --height 80 -o circle.pdf

Specify the annotation rectangle on a 1-based page. This adds a review mark and does not alter the original diagram or text beneath it.

Inspect the saved result

Render the selected page and confirm the circle surrounds the intended content.

Scope and repeatability

This operation uses page-based credits. Review the billing guide before processing a large document.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the pdf circle options and examples for the command reference. Browse related pdf commands when the next step requires a different operation.
