Mark a contract section with a Word bookmark

A contract review workflow needs a stable named destination for a section. A Word bookmark names the destination while leaving the visible heading readable.

Prepare the input

Choose a meaningful bookmark name and confirm the target paragraph in the source version. Paragraph positions can change after earlier content is inserted.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word bookmark --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat word bookmark report.docx --paragraph 1 --name Scope -o bookmarked.docx

A bookmark gives a paragraph a stable name for navigation. Choose a meaningful name and use the 1-based paragraph position in the current source document.

Review before the next step

List bookmarks in the saved file and confirm the new name resolves to the intended content. Recheck the destination after later edits to the contract.

Run word bookmarks on the output and confirm the new name is present.

Keep the workflow repeatable

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the word bookmark options and examples for the command reference. Browse related word commands when the next step requires a different operation.
