Inspect PowerPoint layouts before extending a deck

A presentation template can contain multiple layouts with different purposes. Listing them helps an automation choose a sensible structure before adding content.

Inspect layouts in the template that will actually be used. Similar layout names in another deck do not imply interchangeable placeholders or dimensions.

Read the available layout names in the source presentation. Layout names describe the template structure rather than the rendered appearance of every slide.

Acceptance checks

Review the chosen layout visually with representative content. A layout inventory is a structural aid and does not guarantee that long text will fit.

Compare the returned names with the design you intend to preserve when editing the deck.

Before repeating the operation

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat ppt layouts --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.

Run jetformat ppt layouts --help to compare options with your installed version.

See the ppt command reference for the surrounding workflow.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the ppt layouts options and examples for the command reference. Browse related ppt commands when the next step requires a different operation.
