Identify the insertion row against the current workbook revision. Plan the operation before applying other row changes that may shift the same position.

A focused terminal workflow

jetformat excel insert-row finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --row 2 -o finance-updated.xlsx

The row number is 1-based and refers to the existing row that should move down. Save a new file when dependent formulas make the change difficult to undo.

Acceptance checks

Review neighboring records and formula references after saving. A successful insertion is not a substitute for checking totals, table boundaries, and dependent cells.

Read cells above and below the insertion and check formulas that refer to the affected region.

Before repeating the operation

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel insert-row --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the excel insert-row options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
