A report package may need pages from a supporting PDF added to an existing file. Insertion lets a workflow assemble the package without converting its pages to images.

Decide what success means

Check the resulting page order and boundaries between documents. Also review bookmarks or references that may still describe the original sequence.

Prepare and run

Review the input page sequences and inspect current insertion options with help. Do not assume the default position matches your delivery order.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat pdf insert --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

jetformat pdf insert book.pdf --file chapter.pdf -o book-updated.pdf

The insert command appends every page of --file. It does not insert at an arbitrary middle-page position.

Inspect the saved result

Compare the output page count with the sum of both inputs and inspect the first appended page.

Scope and repeatability

This operation uses page-based credits. Review the billing guide before processing a large document.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the pdf insert options and examples for the command reference. Browse related pdf commands when the next step requires a different operation.
