Identify the supporting column and review formulas that depend on it. Decide whether the recipient actually needs the underlying data before sharing the file.
A focused terminal workflow
jetformat excel hide-column finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --column A -o finance-updated.xlsx
Hiding changes display rather than deleting cell data. Keep sensitive values out of a shared workbook instead of relying on a hidden column to protect them.
Acceptance checks
Open the saved sheet and confirm the intended column is hidden. Hiding is a presentation choice and does not remove sensitive values or prevent recipients from unhiding them.
Open the output and confirm the column is hidden; use unhide-column when restoring the view.
Before repeating the operation
These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel hide-column --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.
Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.
Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.
See the excel hide-column options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
