Prepare the input
List legacy form fields first and preserve identifier spelling. Prepare one representative record containing a long value before processing a larger set.
These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word fill-fields --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.
Run the command
jetformat word fill-fields letter.docx --set Name=Ada -o letter-updated.docx
Use this for legacy form fields, after listing their exact names with word form-fields. Content controls and MERGEFIELD codes use different commands.
Review before the next step
Inspect every filled value and any neighboring labels. A successful write does not prove all required fields were present in the input mapping.
List form fields in the output and review the visible filled values in a document viewer.
Keep the workflow repeatable
Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.
Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.
See the word fill-fields options and examples for the command reference. Browse related word commands when the next step requires a different operation.
