Extract Word tables for a contract review

A contract's deliverables and payment schedule may live in tables rather than body text. A table-focused read makes those values easier to compare with a source record.

Prepare the input

Keep the DOCX revision with the extracted data. Do not collapse empty cells casually, because their positions can be meaningful when reading a row.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word tables --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat word tables contract.docx

Use this when you need table data rather than all document text. Text output is tab-separated; --json is useful for structured downstream processing.

Review before the next step

Compare row and column placement with the original table. Extracted values are useful evidence, but they do not retain every visual cue or merged-cell relationship.

Compare the number of tables and representative cell values with the source before importing the result.

Keep the workflow repeatable

This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.

Run jetformat word tables --help to compare options with your installed version.

See the word command reference for the surrounding workflow.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the word tables options and examples for the command reference. Browse related word commands when the next step requires a different operation.
