Duplicate a PowerPoint slide for a new scenario

A presentation can reuse a slide as the basis for a second scenario. Copying the source slide preserves more structure than retyping its visible text.

Identify the source slide by the current deck order. Plan how the duplicate’s content and position will differ so the audience does not receive two indistinguishable pages.

A focused terminal workflow

jetformat ppt copy-slide board-deck.pptx --from 1 -o board-deck-updated.pptx

Choose the 1-based source slide number. The copy is appended at the end, so use reorder separately if it belongs elsewhere.

Acceptance checks

Inspect the saved deck and edit the copied content deliberately. A duplicated slide can carry speaker notes and design details that deserve review.

Inspect the new slide count and render both the source slide and appended copy.

Before repeating the operation

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat ppt copy-slide --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the ppt copy-slide options and examples for the command reference. Browse related ppt commands when the next step requires a different operation.
