Draw a line annotation on a PDF review copy

A diagram review may need a simple line connecting two positions on a page. A line annotation is a focused way to add that mark.

Prepare the input

Choose both endpoints using the PDF’s coordinate system and check the intended page. Visual measurements from a scaled screenshot need conversion before they become coordinates.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat pdf line --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat pdf line book.pdf --page 1 --x1 72 --y1 72 --x2 200 --y2 120 -o line.pdf

Set two endpoints on a 1-based page. Coordinate annotations are useful for review marks, but they do not modify the content being marked.

Review before the next step

Inspect the saved line at normal viewing size. A correctly saved annotation can still point at the wrong feature if the coordinate assumptions were wrong.

Render the chosen page and verify endpoint placement and line visibility.

Keep the workflow repeatable

This operation uses page-based credits. Review the billing guide before processing a large document.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the pdf line options and examples for the command reference. Browse related pdf commands when the next step requires a different operation.
