Delete a known boilerplate paragraph from Word

A reused report template can include a boilerplate paragraph that no longer applies. Removing it by position can be useful when the template revision is controlled.

Prepare the input

Read the surrounding text and confirm the paragraph index before deletion. If several paragraphs must change, remember that earlier deletions can shift later positions.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word remove-paragraph --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat word remove-paragraph report.docx --paragraph 2 -o report-updated.docx

Paragraph positions are 1-based and change after edits. Inspect the current file before deleting; reusing an old index can target different content.

Review before the next step

Extract the output text and compare the neighboring paragraphs. Then check spacing and page breaks where the removed paragraph previously appeared.

Extract text from the output and check the neighboring paragraphs as well as the removed text.

Keep the workflow repeatable

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the word remove-paragraph options and examples for the command reference. Browse related word commands when the next step requires a different operation.
