A document may contain page margins that are unnecessary for a particular viewing workflow. Cropping adjusts the page region used for display.

Prepare the input

Inspect page dimensions and choose a rectangle that retains all required content. Keep the original because a crop can hide material the recipient still needs.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat pdf crop --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat pdf crop book.pdf --llx 0 --lly 0 --urx 400 --ury 500 -o crop.pdf

The coordinates define the MediaBox for every page. Cropping changes the viewable page area and must not be treated as secure deletion of off-page content.

Review before the next step

Review every affected page boundary. Cropping is not a secure deletion technique and should not be used to remove confidential content from a distributed file.

Check the new page dimensions with pdf info and render a page to verify important content is not clipped.

Keep the workflow repeatable

This operation uses page-based credits. Review the billing guide before processing a large document.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the pdf crop options and examples for the command reference. Browse related pdf commands when the next step requires a different operation.
