Prepare the input
Choose the intended worksheet and keep cell addresses with the note text. Copying only the prose loses the location needed to investigate it.
These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel comments --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.
Run the command
jetformat excel comments finance.xlsx --sheet Summary
Pass --sheet to focus on one sheet, or omit it to read comments from visible worksheets. Use this to collect review notes before changing cell values.
Review before the next step
Compare each note with the current value and formula. A comment may describe an earlier issue, so its presence alone is not a reliable error indicator.
Keep each comment with its sheet and cell location so feedback is not detached from the data.
Keep the workflow repeatable
This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.
Run jetformat excel comments --help to compare options with your installed version.
See the excel command reference for the surrounding workflow.
Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.
