Check footnote text before a document handoff

A final read of the main paragraphs can miss caveats in footnotes. Listing them separately helps a handoff reviewer inspect the supporting text.

Decide what success means

Compare each note with its reference context. A complete text listing is not a page-layout check and does not prove every reference is positioned correctly.

Prepare and run

Use the same DOCX that will be delivered, rather than a PDF from an earlier revision. A stale export can hide a recently changed note.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word footnotes --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

jetformat word footnotes contract.docx

This lists body footnotes while excluding separator records. Use it when citations need a separate check from the main document text.

Inspect the saved result

Check the extracted note text against the citation you expect; page placement requires a rendered preview.

Scope and repeatability

This is a free utility or read operation. It does not need a paid conversion to inspect the result.

Run jetformat word footnotes --help to compare options with your installed version.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.
