Attach a source link to an Excel summary cell

A summary worksheet can point readers to a source system or report. A hyperlink on a known cell helps keep the workbook connected to its supporting material.

Prepare the input

Confirm the target cell and the complete destination URL. Decide how readers will recognize the link without assuming they share your network access.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat excel hyperlink --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

Run the command

jetformat excel hyperlink finance.xlsx --sheet Summary --cell A1 --url https://jetformat.com -o finance-updated.xlsx

Supply a cell address and full URL. This is useful for linking a record to a source document without changing the workbook into a web application.

Review before the next step

Inspect the saved hyperlink target and visible cell content. A link in a workbook does not grant permissions to the referenced resource.

Open the saved worksheet and confirm the target cell opens the intended URL.

Keep the workflow repeatable

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the excel hyperlink options and examples for the command reference. Browse related excel commands when the next step requires a different operation.
