Attach a review comment to a Word draft

An automated review may need to leave a human-readable note inside a DOCX. Comments keep review context separate from the document's main prose.

Decide what success means

Open the output in a Word-compatible viewer and inspect the comment location. Confirm the note is attached where the reviewer will expect to find it.

Prepare and run

Use a clear author label and a specific comment message. The author field is document metadata, not a verified identity or an electronic signature.

These examples use local sample filenames. Substitute your own paths and check jetformat word comment --help against the installed version before running the task. Put paths containing spaces inside quotes.

jetformat word comment letter.docx --author Alice --text 'fix this' -o letter-updated.docx

Attach review text to a 1-based paragraph and supply an author. A comment records feedback without replacing the paragraph text.

Inspect the saved result

Run word comments on the new document and check the author and comment text.

Scope and repeatability

Writing an Office document uses one credit per command. See the billing guide for the current rules.

Keep the input revision with the result so a later reviewer can reproduce the decision. For a write operation, choose a new output path first; use overwrite flags only when replacing a previously reviewed result is intentional.

See the word comment options and examples for the command reference. Browse related word commands when the next step requires a different operation.
