Protect PDF

Add a password to a PDF

Encrypt a PDF so it asks for a password before it opens. The password is used once for your file and never written to disk or logs.

Processed on our server and deleted after 1 hour. Not used for training, not viewed by people.

How it works

  1. 1Choose or drop one PDF.
  2. 2Type the password people will need to open it.
  3. 3Download the protected PDF. The upload is deleted when the job finishes; the result after 1 hour.

Prefer the command line?

Locally you can also set a separate owner password with --owner.

jetformat pdf encrypt contract.pdf --user 'open-password' -o contract-protected.pdf
